Why the “Raw Water” Movement Is Just Dysentery With Branding
The “Raw Water” Movement is what happens when people confuse hydration with hallucination. These are folks who reject tap water, bottled water, and even filtered water in favor of “wild” water collected from creeks, mossy stones, and puddles approved by moonlight. One guy filled mason jars at a birdbath and called it “pre-sovereign hydration.”
Raw Water fans believe fluoride is a government plot, chlorine is emotional violence, and boiling is “aggressive.” One woman claimed that untreated rainwater “rewired her intuition,” though she’s currently in a heated feud with her immune system. Another influencer launched a $39/month subscription to “artisanal alpine runoff” that ships in jars shaped like enlightenment.
In a fake public health advisory, 87% of Raw Water users reported “feeling more natural,” while 100% of doctors reported facepalms. One man tried to sue his municipal water supplier for “not vibing with his microbiome.” Another described the flavor profile as “earthy with notes of frog.”
This isn’t health–it’s hydration cosplay. If your water source requires a tetanus shot and a waiver, maybe reconsider. Or don’t. Just don’t act shocked when your gut bacteria forms a union and demands clean water like it’s not 1842.
