People Who Think Wearing a Band Tee Means They’re in the Band
Ah yes, the walking tribute to a band they discovered yesterday on a lo-fi playlist called “Vintage Vibes.” You know the type–they strut into a coffee shop in a faded Nirvana tee and act like Kurt Cobain himself handed it to them backstage in 1993. They were born in 2001.
1. They say, “I just love their early work,” when asked about a band’s name they can’t pronounce.
2. They think owning a shirt is the same as playing an instrument. Spoiler: It’s not.
3. Their only experience with a guitar is using it as a selfie prop in Urban Outfitters.
4. They believe Spotify Wrapped qualifies them for a Grammy.
5. Ask them their favorite song, and they’ll reply, “You know, track 3… the one with vibes.”
6. They don’t attend concerts–they “grace the venue with their aura.”
7. Their entire identity is built around a band whose Wikipedia page they skimmed once.
8. When a real fan questions them, they vanish in a cloud of “I only listen to vinyl” smoke.
9. They call soundchecks “emotional rituals.”
10. They genuinely believe the band’s bassist gave them a spiritual awakening through eye contact.
11. They say, “We had a great tour this year,” as if folding laundry in their room counts as being on the road.
12. Their social media bio includes “music is life” followed by a band they can’t spell.
13. They bring a tambourine to parties. No one asks for it. No one wants it.
14. They treat merch booths like sacred temples and the cashier like their tour manager.
15. And yet, somehow, they have no idea what an EP is–but they own five.
