Libraries are temples of knowledge and accidental slapstick. You tiptoe in like you’re entering a sacred vault, only to knock over a display of pamphlets on “noise etiquette.” Someone is always sleeping near the HVAC system. A toddler screams “ELMO!” in the reading nook. You try to print one document and accidentally launch a 43-page government conspiracy theory from 2006. The librarian doesn’t flinch. She’s seen things.
