Tiny House Regrets

A Humorous Reality Check on Downsizing Dreams

It all started with a Pinterest board and a dream: live simply, leave a smaller footprint, maybe start a kombucha hobby. But now you’re crying in a composting toilet because the cat knocked over your only mug. Welcome to Tiny House Regrets.

  • You thought living in 120 square feet would bring peace. It brought elbows in faces and a deep hatred of barn doors.
  • Your entire kitchen is a single hot plate and a drawer. You use the same spoon for soup, cereal, and despair.
  • Your bed is above the fridge, which is above the toilet, which is where you cried last Tuesday.
  • The stairs double as storage and a shin injury waiting to happen.
  • You can’t sneeze without hitting something–sometimes yourself.
  • One fight with your partner and someone has to go sit in the bathtub. You don’t have a bathtub. They sit in the sink.
  • Your dinner guests arrive, look around, and say, “This isÂ… cozy,” with visible panic.
  • There’s no room for secrets. Or pants. Or turning around with dignity.
  • You had to choose between owning books or having a toaster. You now own one deeply judgmental book.
  • Every time you try to Marie Kondo something, it turns out to be the Wi-Fi router or the dog.

Tiny House Regrets: because minimalism sounds cute until you’re storing your winter coat in your oven and hosting therapy sessions in your loft crawlspace.
