People Who “Don’t Watch TV” But Know Every Plotline

They don’t *watch* TV–they absorb it osmotically through cultural superiority.

People Who “Don’t Watch TV” But Know Every Plotline

“Oh, I don’t even own a television,” they say–right before offering a ten-minute breakdown of *Succession’s* season finale with more detail than the writers’ room memo.

1. They say “I don’t watch TV” like it’s a form of intermittent fasting for the mind.

2. They’ve never seen *The Bachelor*, but have *very strong opinions* about why it’s toxic and also strangely feminist.

3. They claim their only screen is a Kindle, but somehow know all the spoilers from *The Last of Us*.

4. They start sentences with, “I overheard someone talking about it,” but the “someone” is clearly their HBO Max algorithm.

5. They use words like “formulaic” and “derivative” while describing shows they “definitely haven’t seen.”

6. They’ll criticize reality TV while watching it ironically with the intensity of a doctoral thesis review.

7. They refer to *Breaking Bad* as “a cultural artifact” and yet can quote entire scenes.

8. They “don’t believe in TV” but have bookmarked thinkpieces titled “Ted Lasso and the Death of Masculinity.”

9. Their favorite pastime is watching others watch TV while offering commentary like, “This show is just capitalist propaganda in soft lighting.”

10. They have no cable, but somehow remember the exact number of dragons left in *Game of Thrones*.

11. They claim they saw *Euphoria* “on a plane once,” which is weird because planes edit out half the glitter and all the trauma.

12. They suggest you “read the book instead,” even when the show is *The Office*.

13. They call sitcoms “emotional junk food” but cried during *Friends: The Reunion* in secret.

14. They “don’t watch TV,” but are suspiciously up-to-date on every celebrity’s guest appearance in *The Bear*.

15. If you confront them, they’ll say, “Oh, I just absorb plotlines through memes.” Translation: they binged it twice.
