Music Stores

Why Music Stores Might Be the Funniest Part of Your Week

Music stores are where dreams of rock stardom meet the harsh reality of budget ukuleles and off-key keyboard demos. You walk in to “browse” and suddenly you’re in a guitar solo stand-off with a 12-year-old who can shred like a caffeinated Yngwie Malmsteen. Someone’s testing a drum set with the subtlety of a jackhammer. A guy in cargo shorts is playing “Smoke on the Water” for the fifth time. The clerk asks if you need help and you lie–because no, you don’t need another tambourine, but yes, you absolutely want it. Music stores: pure auditory chaos with a side of rhythm envy.
