Why History Museums Might Be the Funniest Part of Your Week

History museums are time machines powered by dioramas, mannequins, and that one dusty musket. You walk in with curiosity and leave with 300 years of trivia you’ll never use. There’s always a “life-size settler cabin” that smells like mildew and old ambition. A child taps the glass on a Civil War display while yelling “He dead!” You stumble into an exhibit on 1950s appliances and realize your kitchen hasn’t changed. Someone asks, “Did people really wear this?” and a docent appears from the shadows to say, “Yes. And we have the receipts.”
