Costume Parties

Why Costume Parties Might Be the Funniest Part of Your Week

Costume parties are where your friends’ true personalities emerge–and it’s usually horrifying. You show up as a clever pun (“cereal killer”) and someone else is a fully armored Spartan who spent $600 and three months on their look. A guy in a banana suit wins the dance-off. Someone dressed as “sexy Abe Lincoln” gets into a serious political debate with Cleopatra. You spend half the night explaining your costume and the other half trying not to rip it when you sit. Costume parties: glitter, identity crises, and laughter stitched together with hot glue and shame.
