Carnival Cruises: Where Buffets, Bingo, and Questionable Decisions Set Sail
Carnival Cruises are floating cities powered by rum punch and broken dreams. You board with hope, a sunhat, and a duffel bag full of Dramamine. The moment the horn blasts, so does your digestive confidence. Welcome aboard–now go eat shrimp until you can’t spell your name.
The activities are wild. Line dancing at 9, towel animal folding at 11, and karaoke night where Brad from Des Moines belts out Bon Jovi like it’s a hostage negotiation. You try shuffleboard once and now your back is suing for negligence.
The buffet is the cruise’s emotional center. Bacon? Unlimited. Ice cream? Flowing like a dairy river. I saw a child use a churro as a spoon. Somewhere, a cruise chef wept. The dress code is “formal beach casual” which means tuxedo shorts and flip-flops.
Excursions are chaos. You disembark for “cultural enrichment” and return with a sunburn, a handmade bracelet, and 14 blurry photos of iguanas. The boat leaves whether you’re on it or not, so you sprint past pan flute bands while clutching a margarita and your dignity. Only one makes it back.
Carnival Cruises are indulgent, unhinged, and deeply democratic. Everyone’s seasick, overfed, and kind of in love with the cruise director. You leave with a tote bag, 10 extra pounds, and stories you’ll tell forever–or never, depending on how much rum was involved.
