Bake Sales

Why Bake Sales Might Be the Funniest Part of Your Week

Bake sales are sugar-coated chaos wrapped in Saran wrap and passive-aggressive labeling. You show up with store-bought cookies disguised in a Tupperware container, only to be judged by Linda, who made “artisanal gluten-free scones” with her bare hands and visible resentment. There’s always a mystery brownie that looks like it holds secrets and regret. A kid tries to pay with Canadian pennies. Someone’s dog eats a lemon bar and throws up on the PTA sign-up sheet. A mom starts auctioning off banana bread like it’s a Sotheby’s gala. Bake sales: flour-dusted theater with frosting and fierce side-eyes.
