Hypochondriac Havoc: WebMD Ruined My Life

From sniffles to “definitely a zombie virus” in 3 clicks

Hypochondria is the art of turning a hiccup into a horror movie. One minute you’ve got a mild headache, the next you’re drafting your will because WebMD insists it’s “probably meningitis.” Google is your frenemy–typing “why does my toe itch?” leads to a spiral of panic and the sudden realization that you’ve somehow contracted a 17th-century sailing disease.

You know you’re a hypochondriac when your pharmacy rewards card has more points than your credit card, and the urgent care staff greet you by name. “Back again, Dave? Let me guess: ‘rare tropical parasite’?” Meanwhile, your actual doctor sighs deeply as you present a 3-page spreadsheet of symptoms, including “felt kinda tired that one Tuesday.”

The worst is when you *almost* conquer your anxiety–until a coworker mentions their cousin’s friend’s dog had similar sniffles before… well, “it was sudden.” Now you’re side-eyeing your tissues like they’re biohazards. Even yoga becomes a minefield: “Why is my heart racing? IS THIS A SURPRISE HEART ATTACK?” (No, Karen, it’s called “downward dog.”)

But hey, hypochondriacs keep the medical drama alive. Without us, who would remind the world that yes, a paper cut *could* theoretically lead to septic shock? Stay paranoid, my friends.
