Public Pool Etiquette

Why Public Pool Etiquette Might Be the Funniest Part of Your Week

Public pool etiquette is a fragile social contract held together by chlorine and sheer denial. You show up in your best swimwear and immediately step in a puddle of mystery. The lifeguard looks 12 and already over it. A kid cannonballs into the “no diving” zone. An adult swims laps with the aggression of a Navy SEAL. Someone brought snacks–wet Doritos. The rule signs say “No Running, No Horseplay, No Fun.” You try to do a graceful backstroke and end up kicking a noodle-wielding toddler. Public pool etiquette: murky rules, louder kids, and comedy soaked in SPF 50.
