Karaoke Bars

Why Karaoke Bars Might Be the Funniest Part of Your Week

Karaoke bars are the only places where tone-deaf bravery is met with applause and “Don’t Stop Believin'” is legally required every 20 minutes. You walk in confident, leave hoarse, and somewhere in between, you belt out Bon Jovi like you’re headlining Madison Square Garden. A bachelorette party is screaming in harmony. A guy named Chad sings “My Heart Will Go On” with tearful sincerity. Someone brings their own mic. The host is both DJ and therapist. You forgot the lyrics and made them up. No one noticed. Karaoke bars: echo chambers of chaos, joy, and gloriously bad decisions.
