Another started a candle-making business called “Wick’d Intentions,” then lit $600 on fire. Symbolically. And literally. The fire department wasn’t impressed.
In a fictional follow-through audit by the Institute of Abandoned Aspirations, 89% of hobby-hoppers said they “just like exploring their potential.” The rest were still recovering from their sourdough starter’s death. One woman calls herself a “creative nomad.” Her last six hobbies are now roommates in a shame drawer.
Exploration is great. But if your hobbies are stacking up like unopened Duolingo notifications, maybe stick with one. Not for mastery–just for closure. You don’t have to be good. You just have to finish the damn scarf before buying a didgeridoo.
